Children’s and Young Peoples Ministries
The church takes seriously the challenge of Jesus to place and honour children in our midst. We therfore offer a number of opportunities for life development and spiritual growth to younger people in our congregation and from the wider community. We also aim to provide a safe place for children to discover God and His love. We have a functioning child protection policy in association with The Children's department of Assemblies of God Guidelines and those of the specialist agency Churches Child Protection Agency Service CCPAS We want the life of the church to be a safe place to be. We want children and young people to discover new life in Jesus in a safe and exciting way, and for them to build positive relationships and experiences that will remain with them forever.
Services to young people include:
1) Sunday Morning Children's Sunday School - "God's Force" - regular teaching and input directed to children, the children take an active part in our monthly Family Service the first Sunday of each month. There is also a creche facilty on Sunday mornings during the service for nursing mothers and those with very young. This facility has baby changing equipment adjacent to the room and is fitted with a direct audio and visual link with the main service.
2) Thursday evening - "Kings Crew" childrens club for School years 1-6, an active time for fun, faith, praise and crafts. Followed by training sessions for the Performning Arts group at 8pm.
3) Friday evening - "Powerhouse" Youth ministry, focussed on Tweenagers from 6:30pm and an older open Youth group from 7:30pm, at the Full Gospel Church, 60 High Street South. Past Events
1) Shameless - aimed at school years 7 - 11. A youth outreach event which took place on Tuesday 27th, Wednesday 28th and Thursday 29th May 2008, during the half-term. Hosted by a team of youth from the Full Gospel Church, the event consisted of games, smoothies, prayer, teaching and worship with a bbq on the final day. It was a great time for the Rushden Area youth to meet together with a fantastic response from those who attended.
