Global Missions:

The church has a history of involvement and support in Global Missions and is the heart of who we are as a fellowship of God's people here in Rushden. This passion is based on God's global revelation of the Saving Grace of His Son Jesus, to all the world, and his call on all of us to "go" in to all the world and "Be" His disciples. Look below to find all of our links with God's world....

The Church is a member of Global Connections (The Global Missions wing of the Evangelical Alliance), and Mark Lees the present Minister serves as a Council member representing Churches on this national body.

As a church we have a historical relationship with the Central African Mission (CAM), through the person of David Womersley retired missionary and faithful Bible teacher here in the church. Read more about CAM and the pioneers of Pentecostalism into Africa in the book "Into AfricaInto Africa"

We also support a number of missions personnel serving around the world in conjunction with World Ministries the denominational sending body for the Assemblies of God. Those supported at present include, Craig & Christine Burrows and Jonathan & Raynalene Winter serving in the Phillipines, Edward Allen in Laos, Sandra and Alfred Ee serving in Malaysia and the Far East, Sue & Geoff Smith serving in Central Asia and David & Corinna Robey serving in North Africa.

Above this we recognise the needs of the church worldwide, especially in areas where the church is suffering persecution. As a church we actively support a number of agencies and groups working on behalf of the persecuted church worldwide. such as Open Doors, Christian Solidarity Worldwide and Release International.

One of our church goals is to give people a practical opportunity to experience missions first hand. For the last couple of years we have actively taken people on mission to Romania, Mombassa in Kenya and Gilgit in North Pakistan. The Powerhouse Youth Group now has an ongoing support link to a number of children and community works in Romania and all regardless of age are given the opportunity to experience God cross culturally.

The church through its mission link with North Pakistan through the Ministers Mark & Marie Lees also serves as a UK Conduit for the work of the Northern Areas Network and the Karakorum (KKH) Partnership, a network of missions bodies working together to serve the purposes of God in North Pakistan. In this last year we have sent funds to support the local church and its building program, the work of the Gilgit Coaching and Training Centre and support to needy people effected by the 2005 Earthquake and the recent trioubles in Swat valley that left 2 million people displaced in the ongoing "war on terror".
